Promo campaigns
Send your release out.
Hear what comes back.
Promo, launch and sales in one place. Send a new release to DJs, press and radio from the page you sell it on, see who played it and what they thought — and let everyone you sent it to buy it on release day.
How it works
From private release to results in five steps
Everything happens on Formaviva — nothing to export, re-upload or copy into a spreadsheet.
Step 1 · Audience
Bring your people
Import the DJs, press, radio and shops you already send to from a CSV, or add them one by one. Tag each with a role and group them into lists you can send to in one go.
- Lists like “UK techno DJs” or “Press”
- Fans you import are invited to follow you
- Anyone who unsubscribes is skipped from then on
Step 2 · Campaign
Set the terms
Start a campaign from a private release. Write the note everyone gets, choose where replies go, and decide when people may download.
- Downloads after feedback, straight away, or never
- Files go out as MP3 and WAV
- Links expire two weeks after release day, or when you say
Step 3 · Send
Check it, then send
Send the mail to yourself first, then to everyone now or at a time you pick. Each recipient gets a personal link that is theirs alone.
- Schedule a send, or call it off before it goes
- At most two gentle reminders, if you want them
- Revoke a single link without touching the rest
Step 4 · Feedback
They listen, and tell you
The link opens the release in the Formaviva player — full tracks, waveform and all. Leaving feedback takes a few taps: a rating, a favourite track, where they’d play it, a comment.
- Only you see what they say
- They can let you quote them
- Asking for feedback first is what makes people answer
Step 5 · Results
See what came back
Follow every recipient from sent to opened, played, feedback and downloaded. See where they’d play it, which track they liked best, and how each role responded.
- Quotes you’re allowed to use, ready to copy
- Results by role: DJs, radio, press, shops
- Export everything as a CSV
Why one platform
Promo, launch and sales in one place
A promo usually lives in five tools that don’t know about each other. Every handoff loses something: a contact, a play count, a sale.
The usual way
- A file host
then paste the download links into…
- A mailing tool
then upload it all again to…
- A promo service
then copy the feedback into…
- A spreadsheet
then send the buyers off to…
- A store
On Formaviva
- Your audience, lists and roles
- The release, its player and its masters
- Personal links, reminders and downloads
- Feedback, quotes and results
- The release-day launch and the cart
One upload. One link per person. The same page they listen on is the page they buy from.
Promo that sells
Everyone you send it to can buy it too
The people on a promo list are often a release’s first buyers — DJs need the files and the vinyl, shops stock it, fans want it first. Elsewhere, the promo ends at the download. Here it ends at the checkout.
The link is the release page
Not a folder of files. Recipients hear it in the same player as everyone else, with the cart right there.
Sell to the people who loved it
A DJ who rated it five stars can buy the digital release or the vinyl straight away, next to their feedback.
Launch day reaches them again
When the release goes public, your followers hear about it and every recipient gets an “out now” email that brings them back to buy.
Fans become followers
Fans you import are invited to follow you, so your next release reaches them without a campaign.
Recipients see the buy options you have set on the release; artists keep the great majority of every sale, as with any purchase on Formaviva.
The details
Built the way labels actually send promos
Personal links
Every recipient opens their own link, so you know exactly who played it, and any one link can be revoked without touching the rest.
Downloads on your terms
Stream only, download straight away, or download once they’ve told you what they think.
Release-day switch
Have the release go public on its date at 9:00. Your followers hear about it and recipients get an “out now” email.
Mail from you
Formaviva sends it on your behalf, with your name and your note, and replies land in your own inbox.
Quotes for your press text
When someone ticks “may quote me”, their words are one click from your one-sheet.
Consent built in
Anyone who unsubscribed or never agreed is skipped and told apart from a bounce, so your list stays clean.
