Drum & Trails, the first release of duo Jiska Huizing & Rudi Valdersnes is a playful record that combines club music influences with hints of ambient music, weaving together sounds from drum machines, electric violin and samples from field recording.

The track starts with an intro, in which Huizing and Valdersnes ease you into their sound-universe. After that, they invite you along on a journey over small trails, through mountainous terrain. You don’t have to worry about getting out of breath though, because along the way some stops are made on lovely places and pastures from which you can observe various scenes in which the howling wind, birds and a herd of sheep play a role.

The whole track was recorded in one take, reflecting the way this duo likes to work together: spontaneous, following the sound and embracing the small changes that you find along the way.

The record is rounded off beautifully with a remix by the one and only Bjørn Torske on the B-side.
